GOM workshops are an industrial meeting platform for design engineers, tool makers as well as specialists from research & development, production, and quality assurance. They provide insight into the use of optical 3D metrology in the casting and foundry industry. Leading industrial companies present examples from their day-to-day practice. They show how integrating optical measuring systems into the entire process chain helps them shorten development times, improve production workflows, and thus enhance the company’s profitability. Alongside these user experiences, the GOM Team stages live presentations to introduce the latest developments in 3D metrology as well as in measurement and inspection software.
At the GOM workshop "3D Metrology in Casting and Foundry Processes", you will learn how 3D measuring techniques are used in casting and foundry process chains to support and accelerate all stages in sand casting, pressure die casting and investment casting: from tool and model making, molding shop and core making up to first article inspection reports and CNC machining optimization.
The free workshop is part of an international workshop series running at 42 different locations from Asia to America between January and April 2018. During this international series of events, the GOM network shares process-related and metrological knowledge with design engineers, model, tool and mold makers as well as experts from production and quality assurance.
Besides the exchange of experiences, the workshop focuses on user presentations. Leading industrial companies show how integrating optical measuring systems into the entire process chain helps them shorten development times and improve production workflows. In addition, the GOM team presents the latest developments in 3D metrology as well as in measurement and inspection software.
